Email set up on your computer:

Now that we have set up the email account on our servers, you must activate your desktop to be able to access your mail.

Please note, unless your request otherwise, emails will be kept on the BrightWork server for no more than 90 days. Emails you open in a mail client such as Outlook or MacMail will stay on your desk until you delete them.

Set Up:

Go into your email setup screen, frequently found in email Preferences, and set up new account or update your current one. Note that you are setting up a POP account.

Account Information:

Under Account Information, enter your company name, the email address including the @companyname.com (or org or biz, etc. as appropriate.)

Enter your name as you want it to appear on your emails. Example: George Smith. Note: this will appear in addition to your email address.

In addition, enter the user name in the following format: name@domainname.com 

Incoming Mail:

For incoming mail, enter mail.  followed by your domain name including the com, net, org etc. as applicable. For example, I would enter mail.brightworkweb.com.

Enter (and please remember) your password. Please note: this password is case sensitive. If you would like to change your password, please notify us as we have to do it in our system for this to work.

Outgoing Mail:

For outgoing mail, you must configure the outgoing mail server to authenticate using the password option.

The outgoing mail server is mail. followed by your domain as explained above. Example: mail.brightworkweb.com. You must also set the outgoing server authentication to “password.”

Using Web Mail:

If you would like to access your emails using the web, go to www.yourdomainname.com/webmail. Enter your full email address, inc luding your domain name, i.e. jkb@brightworkweb.com and then enter your email password. Then you click on either Squirrel Mail or Horde to view your emails over the web.

Please save your settings.

Please Note: You must close and restart Eudora after setting up. It will ask for password when you log in again. It will also say SSL server not good, in popup box. You should say to ignore SSL.

Setting Up an iPhone

This should happen automatically when you synch your phone with your desktop.

Setting Up a Blackberry:

Setting up Blackberry for POP3:

  1. Log into the blackberry BIS site of their provider; See the list below.
  2. Once logged in, click on the "Set Up Account" button.
  3. Enter the email address and use "abcd" as the password. This will cause the activation to fail so that we can manually edit the settings.
  4. On the next page, select "I will provide the settings to add this email account."
  5. Select "This is my personal account",
  6. Choose "I will provide the settings to add this email account", Next.
  7. User Name: The FULL email address
  8. Password: The correct password this time
  9. Email Server: mail..com
  10. Click next to finish.

Once completed you should be able to receive pop email within about 20 minutes.
